Just as we thought we are accepting the great war of BB Cream we hear about the CC Cream. What are we heading for the world war??

To start from the start:

What is a BB Cream?

BB cream stands for blemish balmblemish basebeauty balm and in Western markets, beauty balm. It is a cosmetic item sold mainly introduced in East and Southeast Asia, although larger beauty brands are increasingly introducing BB creams to Western markets.
BB cream is promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage.

What is a CC Cream?

CC cream, also known as Color Control cream, is an improved and refined blemish balm cream or Beauty Balm created and developed in Korea.  While BB cream was manufactured primarily as a skincare product, CC cream was developed to retain all the skincare benefits of BB cream with added nourishing ingredients and the additional aim to provide more effective skin coverage. CC cream is the newest miracle beauty product available and was formulated with technology originating in industry-leader Japan and further developed in Korea.
The benefits of CC cream is said to include high SPF rating to ensure protection from damaging UVA and UVB rays. It also treats and covers uneven skin tones more effectively and blends with skin tone better than BB creams that sometimes appear too light on certain skin tones. A lighter texture than that of BB cream also allows for smoother application with a less oily finish, while remaining extremely nourishing to the skin.

BB Cream Vs CC Cream

Before we start the world war, here is a small anecdote of how BB Cream and CC Cream came into existence  BB Cream creams where made by a doctor (dermatologist) for patients who would have undergone facial laser treatments and would have sensitive skin. Their skin would react to chemical based sunscreen and turn read. He made this zinc based tint cream which acted as perfect sunscreen without irritating their skin and tinted moisturiser would give low-medium coverage too.
But people with dries skin didn't enjoy this texture. so then came the CC cream with chemical based suncreen.

How true " Necessity is the mother of invention"

  • BB cream is zinc based suncreen. CC Cream is chemical based suncreen.
  • BB Creams can be drying on the skin, so people with oily, acne prone skin can opt for BB Cream. CC creams are hyderating and people with drier skin types can go for CC Creams.
  • CC Cream being more hyderating spread better on the skin. BB Cream mattifies the skin and works well for oily skin.
  • CC Cream is lighter texture than the BB Cream.
